Robert "King"
Moody (December 6th, 1929 - February 7th, 2001) was an American
actor, best known for playing Shtarker in the television series Get Smart.
Moody also played Ronald
McDonald in commercials in the 1970s and 1980s.
Moody played the spaceship
captain in Teenagers From Outer Space (below left) and other roles in
some 40 movies and television episodes including Bonanza,The Bob
Newhart Show, Chips, Combat, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Dragnet (below
right) and Sea Hunt. |

Moody was a close friend of
Bernie Kopell's and when Get Smart was casting for Shtarker, Kopell
recommended Moody. Moody, who had already lost out for the role of
Hymie, had already appeared as a KAOS agent in "All in the
Mind". Moody appeared in 8 episodes as Shtarker, and also
reappeared in Get Smart Again. |
