The 1965 Philadelphia James Bond set was the first 007 cards on the market and contains 66 black and white cards featuring stills from the famed movie franchise with the backs containing a brief description of the scene on the front of card. This set can be hard to differentiate from other James Bonds sets from the same year due to black and white photos from the movies also being used in other sets.
The set includes cards from the first three James Bond movies. Dr. No (18 cards), From Russia With Love (23 cards) and Goldfinger (25 cards).
We noticed that iconic scene with Ursula Andress on the beach is missing from the Dr. No cards in this set. Why wasn't it included? Were the manufacturers trying to "protect" the card buying youngsters from seeing Ursula Andress in a bikini? Who knows? |
