About this movie:
Four Daughters is a 1938 musical drama film that tells the story of a happy musical family whose lives and loves are disrupted by the arrival of a cynical young composer who interjects himself into the daughters romantic lives. The movie stars the Lane Sisters (Priscilla Lane, Rosemary Lane, and Lola Lane), and features Gale Page, Claude Rains, Jeffrey Lynn, John Garfield and Dick Foran. The Lanes were real sisters, members of a family singing trio.

The film was written by Lenore J. Coffee and Julius J. Epstein from the Fannie Hurst novel Sister Act, and was directed by Michael Curtiz. The movie spawned two sequels with more or less the same cast, Four Wives and Four Mothers.

The film was an Academy Award nominee for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (John Garfield), Best Adapted Screenplay and Sound Recording (Nathan Levinson). For Best Picture and Best Director it lost to Frank Capra's You Can't Take It with You. Best supporting actor went to Walter Brennan in Kentucky, while the adapted screenplay honor went to Pygmalion.

Four Daughters was remade in 1954 as Young at Heart starring Frank Sinatra and Doris Day.

FUN.com

Fun.com started years ago with the discovery of a purple monster hiding inside the Fallenstein's home in Mankato, MN. The monster imbued the family with a love of Halloween and told them to spread it across the entire world. Armed with nothing but a sewing machine and some serious skills, one of their founders made Halloween costumes for her children every year, but it wasn't until her kids were grown that the idea of opening a season costume rental shop took hold. Starting in the garage with only a couple dozen costumes, Costumes Galore became a season success in the Mankato, Minnesota area which got bigger and bigger each year. ...And then they took the business online and went from a small, family-run business operating out of a garage a couple months a year into a huge, family-run business with over 100 year-round employees and thousands of season employees, operating out of a 200,000 square foot warehouse in less than a decade! Suffice it to say, the monster is pleased.
