Alien
ALIEN
18" FIGURE
ACTION FIGURE 1:4 (18")
BY KENNER
CIRCA 1977
500.00

Very, very neat item! The 1977 Kenner alien is one of the most sought after alien movie collectibles. When the toy was first on shelves, it had a lot going against it, including the fact that the movie was rated R. Parents also thought the toy to frightening or ugly for children, and since the children weren't that aware of the movie, their demand was low. The result was that few were actually sold. Besides being rare, the Kenner alien is usually found loose and damaged, as it was a poorly made toy. On many figures the back spikes often break off, especially the top center one, as well the tail, which is attached by a sharp metal ring inside the body which tends to cut off the plastic anchor. The translucent dome that covers the alien head is often lost (as in this case), which has led to a none too small market in replacement domes. The interior set of teeth, which can thrust out the aliens mouth by a lever, is also frequently missing. The arms are attached by rubber rings that also get brittle with age, occasionally leaving the alien an amputee. This huge figure is in nice shape but the removeable clear head shell is missing. Lever in back to open jaws works great and inner teeth and jaws are intact and work. Arms, legs and tail are still attached though loose. All the back spikes are intact and attached. She has slight wear and painted blood on her teeth and claws. I'm not sure if this is just a product variation of just a previous owner embellishing the figure. She is over 18" tall and one of the rarest alien toys there is.

LEGO SHOP

The name 'LEGO' is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well". The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. The company has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder. It has come a long way over the past almost 80 years - from a small carpenter’s workshop to a modern, global enterprise that is now, in terms of sales, the world’s fourth-largest manufacturer of toys. The LEGO brick is their most important product. This is why they are proud to have been named twice – “Toy of the Century”. The interlocking principle with its tubes makes it unique, and offers unlimited building possibilities. It's just a matter of getting the imagination going – and letting a wealth of creative ideas emerge through play.
