About this movie:
\nReform School Girl<\/b>\u00a0is a 1957 film starring\u00a0Gloria Castillo\u00a0as a teenage girl who is sent to a reformatory. The film was directed by\u00a0Edward Bernds\u00a0and was produced by\u00a0Samuel Z. Arkoff.\u00a0Reform School Girl\u00a0was one of many\u00a0sexploitation\u00a0films released by\u00a0American International Pictures\u00a0(AIP) during the 1950s and 1960s. AIP’s films during this period were largely focused on juvenile delinquency. As part of the AIP formula, young girls were typically depicted as “good” or “bad” the latter of which were petty criminals, gang members, or the girlfriends of gang members. Other AIP films in the same genre included\u00a0Drag Strip Girl,\u00a0Hot Rod Girl, and\u00a0High School Hellcats. The film marked the acting debut of\u00a0Sally Kellerman. While filming the movie, she met Vickers and Byrnes and the three of them became lifelong friends. The entertainment site Rotten Tomatoes gives the movie a “0%” audience rating. Since the film’s release in 1957, the original theatrical movie poster, featuring blond haired Yvette Vickers fighting dark haired Gloria Castillo, has become a collector’s item.<\/h5>\n
